Bejeweled can be challenging game
Posted By Diego | Casino-News News | August 24, 2010, 08:15 AM |

Bejeweled is a widely popular and fun online flash game. In a style that crosses Tetris with the board game “connect four," bejeweled can be challenging as well as entertaining. The game design and rules are simple and easy to learn.
Bejeweled Basics
The goal of the game is to score as many points as possible by moving adjacent gems to create sets. When you make a vertical or horizontal line of three or more identical gems they will disappear and you will score points.
Controls
In order to swap the desired gems, you click on the gem you wish to move into place and then the gem which you wish to replace. Once you have the hang of it, you can click on and drag gems to their desired positions. You can move gems vertically or horizontally, but not diagonally. When you have successfully aligned three or more identical gems, they will dissolve and more gems will fall into the space from the top of the screen in a cascade fashion.
Hints Bejeweled provides aides called hints. You can access a hint at any time by clicking on the purple hint button on the left side of the control bar. After hitting hint, a jewel will flash briefly, indicating that it can be used to complete a set. Use your hints sparingly. They will cost you points each time that you use them, and if you are in timetrial mode, hints will take away your time as well.
Special Options
There are a variety of options for altering the game presentation to your liking, and these can be found on the initial selection screen or by hitting menu while playing. You can alter your music volume and sound effects separately to meet your preferences. Full screen mode will allow the game to take up your entire computer screen, or you can play bejeweled in a window. Custom cursors are available, if you would like to switch from the standard windows cursors, just click on the box. The help button will assist you whenever you hit it, and the high score option will show you the best scores for both normal and time-trial modes.
Modes
There are two modes- normal and timetrial. In normal mode there are no time constraints, and you may take as long as you like, and the game will end when there are no more available moves. With every set or cascade that you create, the bonus bar at the bottom of the screen moves upward, and when the bar is full, you will move up to the next level. In timetrial mode, the bonus bar at the bottom of the screen continuously counts down to zero, and when the time is up, the game is over. As you score, time is added to your bonus bar, and in timetrial mode you can pause the game at any time by hitting any button.
Sites
There are many different sites that offer versions of bejeweled, mostly in a flash file format. Flash file allows games to appear smooth and seamless. This format is also available for smartphones, giving you the option of playing on-the-go. There are also plenty of different casino games on these sites so be sure to check them out.
