Adjustments made playing online versus playing live
Posted By Diego | Casino-News News | October 10, 2010, 03:19 AM |

A live game player would have some adjustment problems playing online where as an online player would have different difficulties playing in a live game. Since poker is allot of fun in both versions, online and live, many players have to make these adjustments and not get confused between the two.
The rules stay the same and the most obvious difference is the luxury of having a player in front of you and playing against a computer screen with silly pictures representing players. Reading an opponent is probably the hardest task to do in poker. Reading an opponent when gambling online is different because the only "tells" you can pick up on are patterns and fold-check-raising. It's almost an impossible task to know what your opponent's hand is when you can't see him/her live. It's safe to say that many "tells" can be picked up on a live game. You can see the physiological patterns and the acting most players represent.
Some players would say that a live game is all about the acting. You can literally play with all the different possibilities you have at your disposal when sitting in front of a player. casino online has no acting opportunities. It's plainer than that and you really have to adjust to playing a different game.
Probably the biggest and most significant adjustment a player can make when playing online is how to play on the flop and most importantly pre-flop. Online you might want to be more aggressive on the flop, where as in a live game you can slow play to see what happens. Keep in mind that it's very difficult to pick up on betting patterns online. Checking on the flop is very dangerous and it usually means you're going to loose that hand because surely someone is going to raise you and if you have nothing, you are going to fold because you never really know what the other guy has.
